The Florence of the South

We stayed an extra day in Gallapoli, we came for 2 and stayed 5 nights .we had planned to do a long stop somewhere and this was the place. The Friday we went to Lecce  the  Florence of the South , indeed, we went in Pattys Wagon and found an invalid place near the old town. A girl needs luck now and then !!

We walked the streets, sheltered in a cafe  from a thunderstorm and enjoyed the Elegant city, and the shops, such sophistication we had not seen until now.

Back at the camp we had pizza on pizza night

Our travels must continue , we crossed back up to Ostuni and landed at a Masseria just out of town. Well that was special, no payment but diner in the restaurant in the music room.. 6 course with wine made by local ladies. We sat in the music room with LP playing on a gramophone, with 6 others and what an evening we had, so much fun and laughter, a night to be remembered .

Then to Ostuni for the day, we where a bit fragile from the evening before, diner took until around 11.30 and the grappa from olive leaves was Amazing 👍i brought some to share with you
