Pat van den Wall Bake - Thompson
Pat has unrivalled culinary experience and wide-ranging knowledge. This is the result of more than 40 years experience in giving lessons and demonstrations, arranging promotions for new products, developing products for the major food manufacturers and partaking in congresses and workshops world wide, writing recipes for magazines and having 5 of her own books published. All this besides running La Cuisine Française for more than 30 years.
Educated and trained in England as a Home Economist, Pat’s first work was for Birds Eye frozen foods, followed by two and half years for the Dutch Dairy Bureau, travelling around exhibitions, schools and women’s institutes in England demonstrating and teaching about Dutch cheese and butter. She then spent two years as teacher at the famous Cordon Bleu cookery school in London.

Pat van den Wall Bake - Thompson
Pat van den Wall Bake beschikt over een geweldige culinaire kennis van zaken. Het resultaat van meer dan 40 jaar ervaring middels, onder andere, het geven van lessen en demonstraties, het ontwikkelen van nieuwe producten voor grote spelers in de markt, het wereldwijd deelnemen aan congressen en workshops, het ontwikkelen en publiceren van recepten in diverse tijdschriften, en het schrijven van 5 kookboeken. Dit alles naast het meer dan 32 jaar runnen van La Cuisine Française.
Na haar studie Home Economics aan de universiteit van Harrow, heeft ze haar eerste werkervaring opgedaan bij ‘Birds Eye Frozen Foods’, daarna heeft zij voor het Nederlandse Zuivel Bureau gewerkt, waarbij zij de Nederlandse kaas en boter heeft gepromoot door demonstraties en kooklessen te geven. Vervolgens is zij 2 jaar chef geweest bij de beroemde Cordon Bleu kook school in Engeland.

Pattys Wagon is a campervan from 2002, classically designed with a French bed, shower and a 2-pits kitchen. Room enough for Pat and her faithful dog Penny. Not quite Rick Stein but getting near to it - there is even place for a culinary friend to hop on for a ride.
The trip takes her through France, Spain, Portugal and Italy staying in farms and vineyards from the organization France Passion on the way and of course an occasional golf club or a comfy B&B with bath.
Her dream is to visit friends and acquaintances of friends on the way, going to the local markets and then cooking together in their kitchen as she did in LCF. Naturally with a few handy tips and tricks thrown in here and there. She is after all a teacher with passion for the products and the techniques of the Cuisine and loves to communicate this to others.
During the trip besides holding a culinary diary Pat will start on her long awaited bundle!
In October she is “working” in Mas de Cornud helping her great friend Nito on a course The Flavours of the Provence.
Then on to the Gers where she once had a cooking school in the hammeau Encarion then owned by her friend Lidy. Pat had wanted to buy the old bakery as her second home, but Lidy sold it, just as well perhaps as now the camper is going to fill that role.
San Sebastian is her next goal. To park her camper in the centre of this city and to explore a long awaited pleasure.
The first leg of the journey will end in Portugal leaving her camper there to return home for Christmas!
It could change of course, you never know what exciting things can happen to this gypsy woman on the road… life begins at ?

Pattys Wagon has travelled far, France and Italy and now just returned from Ireland. My faithful companion passed away in October, after a lovely trip to the Gers and Ile de Re. We spent the autumn days together in the garden.

Na 32 jaar La Cuisine Francaise, heb ik, Pat, besloten om het rustiger aan te gaan doen. Noem het een lange sabbatical of een nieuwe reis in mijn leven.
La Cuisine Francaise, haar kindje, wordt in goede handen voortgezet door Patric Bijsterveld van Kookschool Verbijsterend. .Since June 2016 La Cuisine Francaise is rum by Marleen From eat your Heart out. The business is going we'll and I am enjoying watching from afar

Pattys Wagon is een camper uit 2002, klassiek design met een echt camping bed, douche en een 2 pits gasfornuis. Plaats genoeg voor Pat en haar hond Penny. Niet echt een Rick Stein maar het komt in de buurt, er is zelfs plaats voor culinaire vriend die mee willen reizen.
De reis gaat naar Frankrijk, Spanje, Portugal en Italië waar ze gaat camperen bij boeren en in wijngaarden van de organisatie France Passion, en natuurlijk wordt er onderweg gegolfed en soms geslapen in een comfortabel B&B met bad.
Haar droom is om onderweg vrienden te bezoeken, de lokale marktjes te bezoeken en dan samen te koken in haar keukentje net als bij La Cuisine Francaise. Natuurlijk met een paar handige tips en tricks van Pat zelf. Ze is natuurlijjk een lerares met passie voor het product en de technieken uit de keuken en vindt het heerlijk om haar kennis met andere
te delen.
Tijdens haar reis houdt ze een culinaire agenda bij en werkt ze aan haar lang verwachte boek.
In Oktober werkt ze bij Mas de Cornud en helpt ze daar haar vriend Nito met het opzetten van een cursus De smaken van de Provence.
De reis gaat dan verder naar Gers, waar zij ooit een kookschool had in Encarion, destijds beheerd door haar vriendin Lidy. Pat wilde de oude bakkerij kopen en gebruiken als haar vakantiehuis maar Lidy verkocht het en de camper zal nu deze rol gaan vervullen.
San Sebastian is haar volgende bestemming. Daar parkeert ze haar camper in het centrum om de stad te ontdekken. Het eerste deel van de reis eindigt in Portugal waar ze haar camper achterlaat en voor de kerstdagen terug naar huis gaat.
Natuurlijks kan het reisplan veranderen, je weet maar nooit wat ze onderweg voor leuks kan tegenkomen wanneer deze gypsy dame gaat reizen...het leven begint bij ?

SUMMER2014
The plans , have changed as you can sees, we have driven thousands of kilometers. My last trip Ireland was superb. Now summer in Amsterdam and a new puppy dog, yes a dachshund. Then to France for a few weeks. Next year maybe I will reach my goal
Now it is February 2018. I still have my camper and have driven more than 45.00 kilometers. Where my next trip i. We will see, one thing sure I love my Pattys wagon and the freedom it gives me.
