South West France one of my most beloved places in France 2013

I first arrived in the Gers by luck or should I say a few beers in Hoppe. 

When I said I would like to start a school and live in France someone said go to St Clar in the Gers go to the red telephone box and phone Lidy van Bentum . I did fortunately my dear friend Pieter Moret joined me in my mad journey. 

Lidy welcomed us with open arms and since then I have pid many visits. I even spent 5 wonderful days there with 40 friends for my 60 th birthday. Gave 2 cooking courses and nearly bought the bakery in Lidy and Ed hammeau. Now I return to the Pigionier in St Clar with Joost for a week. Something makes me feel it will be special. Penny comes too her last trip Zi believe, she was there as a young dog so quite fitting. The big news is that I have decided to take my camper and drive to Clemons ferrand in convoy with my camper vriendin Barbara and a friend of hers.  When the week is over I may hang around the Gers and play some golf (jan) and then on to o e France Passion addresses in Bordeaux before spending a week on Ile de Re which I love . Chris and Eva de Vries invited me to join them there years ago . Now time to spend time alone there with a book and Penny . The slt fields the sea and hopefully sun. Once upon a time I wanted to write a book about salt. Maybe no or buy a wee pied a terrestrial in St Clar ....... Who knows... The story will unfold 

Meanwhile I spent a couple of days in Kimswerd in the Herberg Great Pier with Eline one of my past students. She is now starting a French Bistrot as well as 6 hotel rooms and Table de Hote . So it can also in Holland. A
