1800 kilometres and a week into our Italian trip
14 mei 2019 - Umbertide, Italië
First of all, thank you all for your wonderful reactions.
It is good to know that I have fellow traveller from afar.
Marijke and I are doing well, but had expected sun and warmth, but are still in our winters clothes whereas most of you are basking in the sun..enjoy our time will come. Our 2 campers are well tuned to each other as are their inhabitants, two and four footed.
Our first stop in Italy after a wonderful trip over the reinhasse pas from Landeck. It took us an hour to find the way up, much laughter but we made it.
Apples and goggles are stubborn but so are we.
We then drove on , a bit to far, lessons learned.
We stopped overnight at an Agritourism. Lovely people and we got a bottle of wine too. They even mended the catch on my fridge.
Then to Manatova
First cappuccino in English tea cups, then pasta mine a local speciality with pumpkin and almonds. We make it better.
Then ice Marijke is crazy for ice cream it seems. It was delicious lemon ice even I adored it
We walked around and then drove to our next Agritourism stop in the ☔️
And we knew it the next morning
after a night of rain we eoke up to find we where on grass in puddles of water at 6.00 am when I heard the neighbours leave I carefully eased myself of the grass
Marijke followed later but was “Stuck in the mud “
At 8.00 the farmer awoke and went in the pouring rain to get his tractor and haul her out
We then drove on to a camper place next to a restaurant but still raining Near n Sansepolcro
The resurrection, Huxley says the greatest painting ever
It was interesting and a special Leonardo da Vinci exhibition was there too. Fascinating
Now in Umbertide at the Abbey Montecorona. Today we leave the camper safely behind bars and go to visit Penny at

up the mountain. I once got there in my camper but swore never again.
Tomorrow to the market, then onward to Puglia via Spoletto and Norcia, famous for its sausages
I am so excited, we are almost in Abruzzo and then Puglia, here we come
Now at Penny place
Veel plezier en een goede reis nog.
Say ‘hi’ to Penny from Annie and myself!!
