Farewell Vietnam

At times I felt like a 18 year old backpacker, with my rug sack on my back and my Stick in my hand, scrambling on to a boat a train or a bus at t other times a "handbag traveller" of 66 years , doing things on her bucket list .We laughed, raced hand in hand , risking death, across busy streets with the scooters bearing down upon us, we climbed mountains, forged rivers( in a boat) Ate strange food whose name we did not understand, marveled at the busy Vietnamese, drank rice wine with snakes in ( dead ) actually it was bananas... As a said before snakes is for men . Almost froze to our bones, bathed in hot herbal tubs, where massaged, not always enjoyable , the after effects. Every day was a surprise, everyday an adventure. Unlike the ones we had before and who knows what the future may bring. If you did not read Ellen's story she made one of her many terrific statements . We are going to go to Prins Claus plié to be compared to Piccadilly Circus in rush hour , with our sun loungers to enjoy the peace and quiet. 

The last few days at Phuy Quoc where brilliant, we only moved in a circle of about 50 to 100 meters, from beach, to bar, to pool to restaurant, to bed and back, we ate super fresh food, drank good wine and beer, had massages at a daily fee of 40 euro per dag for 2 persons excluding the beautiful cottage in the garden. We earned it, traveling with Ellen was once again a joy, as henk said in his remarks, we always see the bright side of life ( Monty Pithon) . At least we keep positive, calm at most times and enjoy traveling at our own pace. All of course well co ordintated by Ellen.
