Sitting at the airport waiting to leave. I was last here in 1996 just before the English handed Hong Kong back to the Chinese . It has certainly changed since then and unfortunately, guess what, the weather was bad, low cloud, foggy and even a little rain today. It was Ellen's first visit so a great pity, but as we said...a few times on this trip, it gave it certain mystic. We had busy time and managed to do a lot. Ending with diner tonight at Aqua , a
modern restaurant on the 29 floor in Kowloon Overlooking Hong Kong island, in the mist. We finally had western food for the first time since arriving . super. I had a purée of salted cod with parsley cream ans grilled polenta. Then risotto but a bit disappointing. This morning a super Dim Sum
Yesterday afternoon we lounged at the Mandarin hotel, for old times sake. I spent many hours there with Lieke Schlicter Bergen when we we here in 1996. It was very different then.
Home awaits now, a refurbished settee , a covered passage outside my back door, a great new rug in the garden house and my friends. Tales to be told , pictures to share

And hopefully a new house mate sometime soon, a house without a dog is just a house not a home !!

we have a new dog, called Lola, a Corgi Pembroke, 14 weeks now and guess what? Over 12 weeks Fien is coming now just borned and one week old, also a Corgi!
