Ile de Re

Despite the changeable weather I am enjoying myself. Lady P is more than happy not to be panting in the heat. Only thing I miss is cooking outside at night but the with my delicious lunches I do not need much. A 6.30 pastis in the bar and then a quite evening at home. Skype with friends or a game of bridge . Finally I finished the book last night Willemijn (s) .would not recommend it!!! Next ook the new Dan Brown. Pity it is getting dark so early.

Sunday I walked around to get my .....then arranged the bike and Penny's basket fits with so e extra safety taping .i have a young friend behind reception who is very helpful, with Wifi baskets etc. he is very cheery and we have daily chats, yesterday he says he has not found a girl yet !!! Someone's missing out !!!

Then the lunch, at the bistro in the photo, absolutely full but Penny and I squeezed in. Iin the evening I left Lady P snoozing and went to an informal concert infront of the church in Ars ,  the conductor was so entertaining we where all laughing. The music jazzy and a lot of oldies . Really top. Yesterday my usual early morning swim, okay in the water but Oh so cold outside , a quick whirlpool, then on with the day , wash day. Before going on the bike to Loix. I had read the weather forecast so expected wind but now I now gusts of 63 are a bit much. Going fine but coming back!!! However worth the ride and the most delicious oysters much better than the day before in a small cafe I had visited before. 

Now I sit wrapped in a cosy blanket outside the sky is streaked with blue and it promises to be okay. Golf on the program today, of course that could change. In any case I am going in the camper , a bit of exploring and old haunts . back on site tonight. Was going to another camp but my friend persuaded me not too. It is from the same group, brother and sister, it is a sort of franchisinin for camp sights of quality. It's camp site was started by Papa 40 years ago. Now owned by son and the other by daughter but on the beach at the Phare / lighthouse so good for burning hot summer days.

At this moment the first rays of the sun comes  through. My day has really started, a bit chilly... Now to my morning swim at 9.00 

Not  a good report for weather today but nature has it ways.and we must enjoy what it serves up....like the wine growers --- when you ask about the harvest , they look to heaven , without stress but a good willed acceptance 

A new day let us greet it with joy as inBergplaas
