South Africa revisited

This time no food and wine trip or story but an experience I cannot really share .

I can show you photos and hope you may feel the beauty of Bergplaas. The program and the feelings of the retreat of the Spirit of the Wild are too personal to share. All I can say is I am so thankful my intuition told me to join Princess Irene at this moment in my life. Under her and Waynes good guidance my mind was opened to many things and Nature healed.

The vegeterian food was also delicious.

Now I feel stronger and more confident to go in my new direction  and just be Pat Thompson again. Take time for life and what it may bring.

I have made new friends in the group who where wonderful, I was helped when needed without feeling a burden to others , we shared many things that week and perhaps too in the future, time will tell.

After the retreat I took the local bus to Farncourt Golf in George a drive of 5 hours to play golf and to relax. Despite having no contacts with other guests I really enjoyed myself . Getting up for sunrise over the golf course and to bed at 8.30 , following the natural rhythms of light .

The sun and dry heat was an extra present for me and my bones . 

South Africa will certainly see me again. It is a beautiful country, torn by problems which seem unsolvable, let us hope that they will manage to keep things in balance and that one day everyone will have a home .

Meanwhile having managed to re enter in Holland I am now planning my first trips, I am off to Umbria with Pattys Wagon to visit Penny Radford an old friend at Prato di Sotto on the top of a mountain, she has the most wonderful  place a small settlement of historic building above a small village, where one can rent appartements and houses . I first went there about 10 or more years ago. I then gave a cooking course there and hope to perhaps do that again. After that she has an American group arriving taking over the whole village , even having there own chef. maybe I should offer to wash up.

Pia is driving there with me and we are planning an interesting route stopping at France Passion adresses and Campings in Italy along the way.

This time I will take it easier, as Irene said take your time. I now have time so why not.

I have completed a short fotogram course so hopefully the happy snaps may be better . Tomorrow I start on a moestuinjaartraining so half my garden will become vegetables ????
