A taste of Vietnam Dalat the vegetable garden of Vietnam

26 februari 2014

We where picked up by private chauffeur , early the next day. Nha Trang is spoilt by Russians , our hotel full of loud fat, alcoholic noisy , miserable looking people. A pity but we enjoyed ourselves , thanks to the sailing club and a local restaurant with sweet waitresses. And of course Yersin.

The drive was great, first the rice fields, the up to 1600 m over a mountain ridge , then before our eyes opened the fantastic views . Coffee plantations and plastic covered "glass houses as far as one could see.

It seems the last 5 years, they have prospered , with flowers.( competition for Holland ) vegetables mainly cabbage sorts and tropical fruit.

Our hotel super, wide spaces , flowers, peace

A trip down town for lunch, a visit to the market, artichoke tea at the lake. Then a massage in the dungeons of the hotel, very strange and for Ellen painful as they twisted her bad knee. A bite in the hotel , was disappointing but a sweet nights sleep without Russians screaming in the middle of the night made up for it.

Next day a English speaking guide !!! About 30 words !

But an interesting trip. A palace, coffee, I almost tried the weasel coffee, but chickened out. The weasels are fed coffee beans, which are pooped out roasted and ground for coffee. Very expensive !!! Flowers green houses, vegetables a grand tour, then stir fried noodles and artichoke soup , watery not so interesting.

we dined in railway train that night, got lost on t,he way so taxi home , guess what stir fry and Hot0pot

Oh for Morning glory in Hoi An really good food.

From Dalat to Saigon, this time in luxury.

Saigon, fine hotel middle of the city. A visit to reunification house , wonderful architecture.

Next day to Cu Chi tunnels. Yes what to say , horrifying , disturbing and we hated when we got to the firing range and the male Egos where allowed to shoot. Very distasteful.

that night great diner in a Temple club, lots of English honeymooners..... On their advice set clams with lemon grass and I risked a beef curry . Super.

nextstory after coffee . Our

rices now. But the soothing sound of the sea and our room and veranda in the garden , makes it all worth while. What a trip we had in the Mekong and too the super boat . My back was broken.
