Once again modern technique has beaten me. ! I Pat (d) needs to be backed up . So back to I phone . I am in truffle country so an afternoon visit to a truffle farm was imperative . My companion this day a young English boy from near the Forest of Dean who has arrived to help Penny as work experience . He did not know what a truffle was . We had a very interesting visit and of course Zi came away with Trophies including a double walnut size frozen summer truffle and dried slices of truffle . Plus some truffle paste . We visited there small truffle museum and had a tasting . Robs face was a picture. On the way home we popped into Montone one of Italy's most beautiful villages . The beer he bought me at the top was most welcome, sitting in the village square with the oldies ( locals) Penny is away so Rob and I are ruling the Roost , chickens and all . I hope to have a freak laid egg this morning , which I will scramble and serve with truffle thinly sliced yummie . Jose I am missing you we cooked so much last year .I will never forget the pizza with foie gras on top. I decided to initiate Zrob into bruschetta. Which he made with guinea fowl from Pennys delicious diner the night before warmed with chopped Calibre onions and diced tomatoes topped with a rose of Parma ham . A little olive oil around and a few turns of pepper. He was proud of his work. Today I will buy him his first own recipe note book ! I the made Pasta wit truffles and grilled young green asparagus .
